Particularly in Aragón, over 150 service stations are now reporting petrol prices exceeding €2 per litre, underscoring the widespread impact of these increases.
The looming expiration of the Spanish government’s temporary fuel discount on September 30 threatens to exacerbate the situation. Currently, the measure offers a relief of 5 cents per litre on petrol and 20 cents on diesel. Industry analysts warn that the end of this discount could push diesel prices above €2 per litre on average, with petrol prices not far behind, approaching similar levels.
